This page provides links directly into transcripts of the original records used to construct the family histories found on this site. These are only transcripts, and there is therefore a risk that there are errors. If you find a record that you are particularly interested in, please contact me and I will double check with photocopies of the original documents.

British Civil Registration 1837-1900

The Wholey Family History Society holds a complete index of British Civil Registration Births, Deaths and Marriages from 1837 to 2000. This website contains the index to 1837 until 1900. If you require information beyond 1900 please contact me direct via the contacts page. The index has been compiled from the original indexes current held at the Family Records Center in Islington, London. The index is free to access, but original civil registration certificates have to be purchased. The certificates provide more details than the index, and where a copy of the original certificate is held by the Wholey Family History Society a link is given in the index to a transcript of that document. The table below provides links to the index. Within the index there are also links to family trees where individuals have been identified.

Births 1837-1849 1850-1859 1860-1869 1870-1879 1880-1889 1890-1900
